Tsun Yu (Galax) Poon
Galax Poon has been in the Hong Kong Shisha industry since 2017, he had been worked in Earl’s Court Hookah, Morokok, and established Mono Shisha (Mono Dark, Mono Light, MonoLab), currently the founder of MOKUMOKU (2020-Present).
The reason for him to create this event is he wants to let all the shisha lovers in Hong Kong to know the basic concept of Shisha, since the number of lounges are increasing, as there are a lot of potential packers in Hong Kong for people to discover.
The purpose of this event will be a great opportunity for them to shine and elevate the shisha industry.
Preliminary Round
12 contestants will be separated into two groups and compete in the preliminary round. The Central theme of the preliminary round is based on the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter.
Contestants will draw their theme from a closed ballot box, the contestants will go to their assigned tables based on the theme they have chosen.
Rules
Each table has been provided with :
- 10 packaged tobacco on each table
- Lotus Heat Management Device
- A roll of aluminium foil
- Hookah Pipe
- Two types of bowl for the contestant to choose; Killer or Phunnel Bowl
For both preliminary rounds, all the contestants will have 20 minutes to prepare everything and have it ready for the judges to try.
Contestants will also need to present their shisha and the judges will evaluate their mix according to their understanding towards Heat Management, Tobacco types and practical applications.
Six contestants from the preliminary round will be selected to enter the final round.
Final Round
During the Final round, the final six will show their highest skills and have to choose their own tobacco from the mystery trolley, where they have no idea of what tobacco there are. The theme of this final round is, “I am the one” to prove who is the one true Shisha Master in Hong Kong.
